Add Glitter to your PhotosThis, is Brandon. Although his isn't apart of my original "theme"; I decided to go with him anyway due to his "savour fa ire". As it turns out, Brandon here was at work when an emergency call came through and was rushed to dress accordingly. His snowy white dress shirt underneath his ebony-wool pea coat brings a luscious new sense for youngsters everywhere.
Fashioning the ideas; thoughts; comments; and/ or questions of today together- for better understanding tomorrow.

Vanessa- photographer
Vanessa here is wearing a matching, hand-knit beanie with scarf made (and given to her) by her mother (whom lives in Arizona, by the way); probably, for these cold, fickle San Francisco nights we have. Continuing on with her semi-long, wool coat are her "night right" stockings which delicately embrace each rivet as it is strung up the back of her calves. (VERY sexy.)

Sleek From the Streets- of San Francisco
Rain pours down on and off (here) in San Francisco these past few days; but this doesn't stop Belem (pronounced: "Beh-lem") from dressing in her savvy, yet classically sheik way. Matching a black leather bag with her knee high boots; while combininig a short, white, waist-coat of wool, to her blue jeans and long, pulled back ponytail, this girl is ready to defy the wet weather with not only her sense of style; but she also by remaining warm and toasty while she drudges on through these wet streets.

OSCAR night
Having never before thought to watch the Oscar's in it's entirety and (partly due to) this being a mandatory writing assignment- which, as luck would have it- due the next day; are, probably, the main(?) and only reason(s) for my scurrying half way 'cross town.
Before letting into fear a chance to dance a game of "cat and mouse" between my nerves, stomach, and confidence, I trod on assuring myself that, this time I WON'T be "fashionably late". At this point in time, the only way to do so, is by remaining calm; or, at least seem calm toward the unknown passer by.
Suddenly, without warning, it was as if there was an instantaneous moment where I could actually SEE reality slapping me with a fat check screaming:
"Hey! Y'ar-rgh, calm down!!! Yar ain't no little kid an'more", (or, any less for that matter), "It'll be all right!"
With what little realized, parts of the "intro" for the night's gala (technically) had already begun. Which, for some, this is (probably) what the Oscar's are all about- and nothing more. (Referring here to, of course, the "who's wearing what" ratio.)
Nonetheless, and despite circumstances, I was able to catch a few of the entering celebrities decked out in their finest- or, as in Penelope Cruz's case: borrowed- yet, undeniably classical, sheik attire. Personally, I think my timing was almost perfect. Why? Because, even though I was only able to catch some of the "who's wear ring what"s; my whole line of focus was pointed toward that of the Oscar's itself.
Call me old-fashioned, if you will; but, isn't the whole point of the Oscar's to give recognition for the "outstanding achievers" to which of whom if it were not for, we- as a humankind- would not be able to sit alongside each other while we watch in amazement as our thoughts, feelings, emotions, dreams, disappointments, and life (little?) lessons they play out before our own eyes as we share the "big screen"? Besides, I am the type of person, whom, after the movie is well and over (at least, the plot is), and the credits are going up, I am one of the few handfuls (if, any at all) left in the theater watching as they role by. And yes, granted, the credits DO happen to roll EXTRAORDINARILY fast; but, that isn't the point.
SO... back to .....
All I could think about were the Oscar's themselves; and while doing so, assumed the point of watching were to view what was being worn up to the stage. Not too mention, I became more overwhelmed with the entire show, that, I ended up viewing it in a whole different light. I mean, there was SO-O much more going on there, that, it would probably take me YEARS to explain the connections and spiritually enlightening details I was able to catch.

....."There MUST be more ....watching this benevolent array set forth a traditional art medium ... for a reason; ..... I guess, since ....... the circumstance(s) to which I am accustomed have been altered....... I suppose, ......"
This happened to be one of those rare cases when ACTUALLY having an opportunity to not only, "think before I speak"; BUT also, be able to materialize my thoughts! WOW! What a concept!!
All this excitement of watching my VERY first "night at the Oscar's", only has me wondering: WHY, what does watching the Oscar's have to with my task at hand? Fashionably speaking- or, in this case writing.
I would be skeptical, at first, remembering way to well the first few times I had tried to watch the Oscar's in the past; thinking, this felt way TOO much like football. In a sense, that the outcome would be fixed. But, perhaps, I am not too far off with this one, though. ***Uh, oh! I can hear it now! -"Watch what you say", etc., etc., etc.. But wait! Hear me out.... It is in my belief, that, there are only one (good?) reason in which an example of a "fixed outcome" could be/ or, perhaps would be necessary. And, that (again, in MY belief), is in the case involving Heath Ledger. I only bring this up because, it was a terrible tragedy what happened to that young man; and I, personally, would have done the same thing. (Give an Oscar to the family without REALLY having "voted" on it.) I feel, this was an act of mutual understanding. There is no other way to express one's gratitude, appreciation, and empathy than that of doing something as selfless as giving an Oscar to the grieving family.
Please, do not get me wrong! I will be the FIRST person staying behind in the theater after the movie is said to be "over"; So that, I might be able to catch that glimpse of a name, place, or whatever! the case may be which, for the most obvious reasons, has brought me closer in spirit and kinship with my fellow being. There are a lot more going on than just the "who's wearing what for tonight's event". There are so many, deeper aspects, to follow, become aware of, and/ or enhance growth through the natural anomalies which make us so unique.
Often, through fashions and without ever questioning the why, we choose and wear things which appeal to us as individuals. Nonetheless we will keep going through life always looking for a way to "fit it"; be apart of the "in-crowd"; or, to just be accepted as an equal.
If it were not for having to watch "Oscar Night", I am not sure I would have been able to appreciate- on a grander scale- the importance of what the Oscar itself represents.
Well, I have a lot more to say on this matter; but alas,..... in due time, my friend. In due time.
